The Absurdity of Online-Classes Response

Image
by Ronald Michael Quijano, LPT We human beings have specialized ourselves in inventing tools that can perform our task more efficient and convenient. Since the dawn of civilizations, we have designed tools that made our jobs easier. Although technology can be considered as a handy and practical companion for business owners, the workforce is under threat. Since industrial technology, routine jobs have been superseded by machines. Also, as technology progress, more individuals are losing jobs. For instance, a person making stone tools will be replaced with those who are making copper tools. Over time, those who are making copper tools will be replaced with those who offer iron tools.  This is the reality where everyone must prepare themselves. The problem is that it's happening faster. Self-driving AI cars are now intimidating to taxi and delivery drivers. Newer medical machines that can read diagnoses and detect such efficiently are a threat to doctors. Automated machines that cook...

Science as a Framework of Thought for Society

Image
by Ronald Michael Quijano Science seems to be passive to most learners when it comes to its utility in leadership. The current curriculum seems to limit its scope in technical means. The wisdom and process of science is an enormous analogy of a healthy way of thinking, not just effective in its own field but also to society. Simply look at how our community is fashioned. It is clear that the majority of leaders and citizens hunger for authority but never wisdom. Opinionated but not informed. Powerful but not competent. We became short-sighted for everything we do. Our interests became limited to whatever satisfies our self-indulgence, on things that will give us more power, and on the matters that continuously make ourselves feel so special. It is evident to the current COVID-19 pandemic that the majority of our leaders do not listen to science. Their concern is not after the truth but after their image and self-worth. Science must promote its way of thinking.  In the Philippines, ...

"Bobo" as the new norm; Dealing with professional political trolls

Image
by Ronald Michael Quijano Last update - March 24, 2020 It was 2018 when I thoroughly engaged myself with the philosophy's academe and practice. Skeptical of my beliefs and religion, I've been questioning it and refuting it ineffectively, until the year that I have understood the core concept and the art of argument; that it must be done reasonably, artistically, and intellectually. Until then, I have learned to criticize notions from other sides with genuine reasoning and learned to step away from militantism. To my surprise, it works excellently. I am now able to dispatch my cases and rebuttals calmly and intellectually, making sure the pureness of acumen and reason is loaded in my constructs. Despite such a realization, the mainstream media has now taken over the art of debate and turned it into a bigotry war. Political trolling is now the new norm, internet trolling, on the other hand, has been detected ever since the emergence of Web 2.0 and threatened the control of fr...

The Coronavirus will not kill us, fear and ignorance will

Image
by Ronald Michael Quijano A cultivated mind who knows reason knows no fear.  Amidst the effort bestowed by different sectors to minimize the panic among the citizens of every nation, ignorance and fear will overcome such an effort with ease. However, we as individuals also have something to overcome in ourselves: greed. Our ignorant society failed to cope up with the world's modernization. Our lifestyle seems to be benefiting with the product of knowledge but has no concern about the knowledge itself. We know how to use our everyday appliances but know nothing about how it operates. We have access to unlimited communication but don't use it ethically. We have cultivated more and more resources but failed to use it efficiently and effectively. We cannot let our ancestors share the blames we have on ourselves, they do not deserve to be generalized. The failure of our generation is indeed on us, and never theirs. However, our past seems to be a great platform to correct...

How We Poisoned Love?

Image
The Destructive Ideas of Romanticism by Ronald Michael Quijano Pleasure and problems are everywhere. From our parents to our families, from friendship to intimate relationships - everyone seems to be having a hard time settling with such commitment. Society's growing problem in their environment is much worse, but these personal obligations seem to be spontaneously jumping all over the place. In this essay, I will be discussing the ideas we've been patronizing for a long time that seems to be causing problems to most of our relationships. The ideas that seem to be giving pleasure to us, but only for the short term. An idea that almost everyone is a fan of and thereof almost everyone has gone into dealing with relationships in the wrong way. Special thanks to Alain De Botton and the School of life for giving me the inspiration to write this essay. Maybe, you are asking the reason why did I made such an essay - I think because most concepts of love we have on our lists today ...
